The 20th FIFA World Cup has finally kicked off in Brazil. If you are constantly on the move or just don’t want to be couch bound for the next month, why not try these great free iPhone apps to keep you in touch with all the action.

Whilst fully featured I found this app clunky and confusing to navigate.

Sports Yapper is the number 1 UK social app for sports fans. This simple apps lets you enjoy friendly banter about your favourite sports teams. Basically it’s Twitter for football fans.

Download the latest version of iPlayer and watch all the BBCs World Cup coverage live or on demand in the UK.

Live match coverage
The BBC has to share games with other broadcasters so every game isn’t shown live but many are. Here is a list of games on the BBC.

Watching iPlayer abroad.
You can watch iPlayer using a VPN from anywhere in the world. By using the iPlayer Web App and a free VPN service like Hideman (5 hours free per week).

The BBC football coverage is some of the best in the world. If you don’t already have iPlayer installed get it today.
