New environmentally friendly MacBook Pro boasts faster performance

Good news for fans of the 15-inch MacBook Pro: the updated 15-inch laptop doesn’t only feature enhanced graphics, but also faster processing.

The new MacBook Pro is still as lightweight and thin as before, but it is more powerful and faster than ever. It boasts the same touchbar control strip and aluminium casing, and there are only four USB ports. It also features a massive Force Touch touchpad — so long and high it could cover half the keyboard.

The higher processing power is the result of Apple’s decision to use 7th-generation Intel Core i-series processors instead of the older 6th-generation Intel Core processors. The latest MacBook Pro also offers improved graphics thanks to the use of an HD 630 integrated graphic chip instead of the previous Intel HD 530.

Another plus is that the AMD Radeon Pro 450 and 455 graphics selection have been replaced by the Radeon Pro 555 and 560. The 15-inch MacBook Pro comes in two different configurations. The cheaper 256GB SSD/AMD Radeon Pro 555/16GB Ram/Core i7 costs $2,399 while the more expensive model offers 512GB/ AMD Radeon Pro 560/16GB Ram/Core i7 CPU is priced at $2,799.

All this performance and power has to be kept cool to maintain performance, and this is done via a clever split blade cooling system. The blades reduce noise and improve airflow, which is great news for those who use the computer for activities such as extreme gaming and video editing.

For the environmentally minded amongst us, it will please to know that Apple designed the latest MacBook Pro with its environmental impact in mind, right through to the product life cycle. The new version offers the following features to minimise its impact on the environment:
