On Monday, Apple gave the world a sneak preview of its soon-to-be-released television show Truth Be Told, starring Aaron Paul and Octavia Spencer.
It tells the story of Poppy Parnell (Spencer), a podcaster who is attempting to get a murder case reopened that she helped to solve 18 years before.
At the time, it resulted in Warren Cave (Paul) receiving a long jail sentence.
The show is based on a book by Kathleen Barber, and will reportedly offer a glimpse into the US’s fixation with real-life crime podcasts.
It wants to dare its audience to think about the consequences when pursuing justice takes place on the public stage.
The consultant for this series was Sarah Koenig, who produced and made Serial, a podcast with a similar plot to Truth Be Told.
Some of the other players include Elizabeth Perkins (Big), Mekhi Phifer (ER), Ron Cephas Jones (This is US) and Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex).
The show will debut on Apple TV Plus on Friday 6th December.
It will join an existing line-up that includes For All Mankind, The Morning Show, See and Dickinson.
In other Apple news, the company has started work on its new 3-million-square-foot campus in Austin, Texas.
The total cost of the project will be around $1bn.
The new campus will initially accommodate 5,000 workers when it opens its doors in 2022, but it will have the capacity to eventually house 15,000.
Apple’s expansion in Austin forms part of a project to boost its investment in engineering, manufacturing and other jobs throughout America.
The company’s contribution to the US economy for the five-year period from 2018 to 2023 is expected to be around $350bn.
By 2023, it will employ 20,000 more workers than today.
