Apple now selling refurbished 2017 15-inch MacBook Pros

In the latest news from Apple the company yesterday launched a number of additional products in its online store for refurbished computers. The list includes a variety of 15-inch MacBook Pro models fitted with a Touch Bar. Since they were first launched in June this year, this is the first time these computers have been on offer in the refurbished store.

At the time of writing the company’s refurbished store listed six current-year 15-inch MacBook Pro versions, all available at about 15% less than the new model.

The cheapest one is the 15-inch MacBook Pro with a 256GB hard drive, 16GB RAM and a Radeon Pro 555 graphics card which can be yours for $2,039. This is $360 less than the price of the same computer when new. Both Space Gray and Silver versions are for sale in a variety of configurations.

Strangely enough, all of these computers are shown with an estimated shipping time of 30 days, but this could simply be a mistake since they have only been added to the refurbished store very recently.

The launch of 15-inch MacBook Pros in Apple’s refurbished store comes after the company started selling refurbished models of the 13-inch 2017 MacBook Pro there about two months ago.

Individuals buying any of these computers can be fairly certain that they are not buying a dud. Apple puts all its refurbished devices though a stringent refurbishment programme before they are sold. The whole process includes not only in-depth inspection, but also cleaning, repairs and finally repackaging.

But what should probably provide the greatest peace of mind to prospective buyers is the fact that all these computers receive a one-year warranty, which can be further extended if you buy AppleCare+.
