Apple announces iPhone 11 plus Apple Arcade and much more

Below, we summarise a few of the highlights of Apple’s long-awaited media event that took place yesterday.

iPhone 11

The new iPhone is available in six colours: white, black yellow, green, purple and Product Red.

It boasts a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina and True Tone screen.

It also features an “amazing dual-camera system with an all-new wide camera with an all-new sensor.”

The ultra-wide feature, the company says, is perfect for small areas where it’s difficult to back up.

When it’s dark, the camera automatically switches to night-mode for reduced noise and brighter images.

The iPhone 11 sells for $699 and up.

iPad

The new iPad features a larger 10.2-inch Retina display, and you can capture screenshots by simply swiping up from the lower corner with your Apple pen.

The device is made from recycled aluminium, and it offers an 8MP camera.

Apple Watch

The new Apple Watch boasts an ‘always on’ intuitive display – i.e. owners will always be able to check the time and other important information.

Battery life has been enhanced to as much as 18 hours per day, and the device comes with an integrated compass.

The Series 5 GPS range sells for $399 and up.

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ will officially be launched on 1st November at a very attractive price of $4.99 per month for the whole family.

If you buy a new iPad, iPhone or Apple TV, you will get a year’s free subscription.

The service will launch with a “powerful and inspiring lineup of original shows, movies and documentaries.”

Apple Arcade

Apple also announced that Apple Arcade, its new online subscription gaming service, will be launched next week.

It will offer exclusive games for both desktop and mobile users at $4.99 per month.

The company said: “You can’t find these games on any other mobile platform or subscription service, no games service ever launched as many games, and we can’t wait for you to play all of that.”
