Customers will be able to buy Apple products in stores in most of the UK from Monday after it revealed that 33 physical locations will be open with new social distancing guidelines in place.
Apple released a statement over the weekend confirming that the vast majority of stores will reopen after a three-month shutdown period.
However, those looking to make the journey to purchase a new MacBook or iPhone will find that the experience is a little different from before the coronavirus outbreak.
There will be temperature checks before entering the store, stringent social distancing signage and measures that must be followed, the mandatory use of face masks, and limited customer numbers.
Apple says that it will provide masks for anyone who does not have one at hand.
All 32 stores in England will open on 15th June alongside one in Northern Ireland with opening hours that will vary.
A further five in Scotland and Wales will be allowed to reopen when restrictions are eased in those regions.
“With many working and learning from home we look forward to providing the service and support they need, whether that be picking up a new product or getting help with one they already own,” Apple said in a statement.
Customers will still be able to walk in and browse products from Monday, but the focus for Apple is on providing service and support.
With that in mind, it is now possible to make Genius Bar appointments via the Apple website.
All employees will be wearing masks, and there will be hand sanitiser and a mix of routine and deep cleaning of products and surfaces to ensure that everyone is able to “stay healthy”.
After a near worldwide shutdown, Apple has now reopened stores in a number of countries, including the US, Germany, France, Italy and Australia.
